MOTHERS' UNION CENTENARY
In March this year, the Mothers'
Union of St Luke's celebrated the Centenary of their estbalishement,
giving thanks to God for one hundered years of work, witness and
worship in the Parish of Salt River and beyond. Bishop Merwyn Castle,
Bishop of False Bay and Liason Bishop for the Diocesan Mothers' Union
preached and celebrated at the 09:00 High Mass on Mothering Sunday
(Lent IV - 6 March 2005). In the evening, Bishop Charles Albertyn,
former Liason Bishop, now retired, preached at Solemn Evensong and
Benediction. Many branches and members joined the parish for this very
joyful celebration and greetings were received from Mothers' Union
branches, members and friends from all over the world.
